Women’s Council of Realtors, California State Winter Meetings, Indian Wells, CA
The experience of attending a state meeting of Women’s Council is unlike any other conference, convention or seminar. There is a unique culture within the Women’s Council that is evident in every aspect. The strength of Women’s Council is in its members. This network of professionals is a tremendous resource to all. A speaker at the California State Winter meetings in Indian Wells last month, Karen Bates from Military Home Loans, said it best when she said “one of us is not nearly as smart as all of us.” As we mentor each other, help each other, learn from one another, and celebrate each other’s successes we grow stronger. Women’s Council is a safe place to step outside your comfort zone, ask for help and reach out to each other. That culture is unique and should be celebrated!
One of my favorite sessions at last month’s meetings was The Secrets for Top Selling Agents presented by Joe Sesso of Homes.com. Joe asked a provocative question, “Would you buy from you?” How many of us have taken a step back and checked out our own image, particularly our online image, and asked ourselves that question? He then laid out five steps we can each take. Step 1 Get Organized. A simple suggestion is to create an email and phone number that is only used for lead generation which helps you track and control leads that come in. Step 2 Utilize Technology like cloud based phone routing systems and email auto-responders. Step 3 Use Targeted Messages – be intentional in your marketing. Step 4 Get Notified Instantly – the clock is ticking so make sure that when a lead comes in you can respond quickly. Step 5 Win The FIRST Minute. To do this Joe had two suggestions, a) the “pre-call stalk” – google them before you call back (suggesting an app called “Charlie” that google searches for you the people in your calendar) and b) take control of the call with simple dialogues like “could you write down my name and number in case we get disconnected” and utilizing “ARP-ing” Acknowledge, Respond, and Pivot techniques to overcome objections. Finally Joe suggested that you have to dig deep to build trust.
Each of the presenters, break-out sessions, and speakers at the winter meetings offered valuable information and insight on how to build a better business. It is always hard to commit to taking several days out of our busy work schedules but the time invested in yourself and your business will be more beneficial then you can ever imagine. If you want to truly experience the power of your membership in Women’s Council attend State and National meetings!
