The 2017 Women’s Council of REALTORS® – CA Winter Meeting was held at the exquisite Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, CA, approximately 17 miles southwest of Palm Springs. The weather was cool and rainy, until the last day when the skies cleared, creating a gorgeous photo opportunity (see attached group picture).
As always, the sessions were jam-packed with relevant and timely information aligned with our Organization’s mission and vision. Keynote Speaker Colette Carlson delivered a dynamic conversation geared toward our intention as “servant leaders”.
Kerstin O’Shields encouraged us and taught us how to influence people without saying a word, by paying attention to our own body language. This was powerful because in many cases, we as sales professionals, are led to pay attention to the body language of others we are doing business with.
Our Strategic Partners were there in full force, with fun and informative presentations. One interactive presentation was done by Karen Bates of Military Home Loans, titled “I’ve Done the DiSC and Still Don’t Like You, Now What?”. You can imagine the fun we had with a topic so relatable!!
This month’s meeting focus was transition and membership recruitment and retention of REALTORS® – with introductions to new resources on our www.wcr.org <http://www.wcr.org/> website like the Quick Start Guide and Pointers for Local Program Director and Local Membership Director.
We discussed Strategies for timely, issue driven, revenue generating events and Brainstorming for innovative, out of the box, interesting /sexy titles (Yes! SEXY. LOL) – I told you this meeting was fun!
I also really enjoyed and found beneficial the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Tool Time Breakout Session for developing a Network Business Plan. The presentation materials for this breakout session can be found here.
