Be Bold, Aim High, and Live Large…. If you were at our Monterey January meetings then you heard about these goals for 2013. Your leadership team and the WCR State Network’s purpose is to support local Networks and to develop leadership.
We started on these goals in October and the whole team worked on Being Bold. That means getting uncomfortable and looking back at the past so that we can succeed at a high level. Everyone in a leadership role has overcome an obstacle and that experience probably helped make you the leader you are today and gave you many lessons along the way.
Aim High is hard, because it is easy to have attainable goals, but BIG GOALS are hard and require focus, dedication and a plan. It is our goal to have healthy Networks in the State of CA, and for each Network to have great leaders who are involved and want to get involved in running local Networks and at the State level. It is also the CA WCR goal to grow our membership by 10%, to provide more training and education at our State meetings and for those attending our meetings to bring the message home to our local Networks and all our members.
Live Large doesn’t mean supersizing– but living the life that we all want but are sometimes afraid we can’t have. It may mean getting fit, going back to school, moving your leadership to a higher level, going on vacation, volunteering in your community or profession and having all the money you need to do all of these things. So that means each member needs to make more money, have m
ore success and your leadership team will deliver this with giving each person attending our meetings, something to have you net more money. Volunteerism is not cheap, and we value your time and effort and will deliver quality programs, education and leadership development tools.
We have come along way with multi- year planning and have developed strategic committees and have less committee work and more speakers and trainers. In 2013, we will be developing our new 3-year strategic plan. I can’t wait to see what all of you have in store for the next phase of development at the State level. And we encourage you to join us for our next State meeting. I am looking forward to a great year!
