General Membership Meetings

Not for Profit Paperwork is complete will be filed with IRS and Franchise Tax Board.
Treasurer's Report placed on file
Nominating Committee Chair, Nita Lyon submitted to 2002 Officer nominations:
President Elect, Sharon Telles; Secretary, Mary Jane Cambria; and Treasurer, Susan Marshall.
Motions passed:
1. (Mike Riley, Bylaws Chair) to make the following change to the State Chapter Bylaws, Article I: Creating a Chapter, Section 4: Chaptert may be disbanded after due notice for A) Not maintaining at least ten (10) members; B) Not filing a list of current officers; C) For any other reason deemed by the national Governing Boad to be in the best interest of WCR.

2. (Lynn Blumberg, Education) to create a reserve account for educaation and programs.

3. (Carol Pringle, Newsletter Chair) to create a state e-mail newsletter instead of a papeer newsletter with hard copies sent upon request.

4. (Mary Hall, Education Awards Committee ammended by James Nevans) to change the education awards from $125 each to $100 each up to the budgeted amount each yer with a September 1 deadline and the application period running from September 2 of the current year to September of the next year.

5. (Mary Hall, Education Awards Committee) that he Joanne McEachern memorial award be given to 4 recipients in the amount of $125. Criteria for the award will be dveloped and circulated to all members. Deadline for the applications is September 1.

6. (Betty Taisch, President Elect ammended by Teri Miles) that the State membership dues be increased from $13 to $25.

7. (Mike Riley, Bylaw Chair) that any unused budgeted amount in the Education and program account will be transferred to a reserve account earmarked for future Education and Programs. The amount transferred will be the lesser amount of the net profit earned by the State Chapter in the current fiscal year, or the unused budgeted amount in the Education and Programs for the same fiscal year. If the State Chapter sustains a loss in any fiscal year, o amount will be transferred from the Education and Programs account, even if the Education and Programs account has an unused budget amount remaining for the same fiscal that the loss was incurred.

8. (Jenny Jeffries, Technology Chair) that we pay the current webmaster a sum of $150 per month to create, maintain and update in a timely manner the California State Website.

Leslie Appleton-Young, CAR Economist gave a very interesting update on the real estate market in California.

Palm Pilot Roundtable and Pearls of Wisdom was very informative and ideas shared.
