Santa Cruz Beach Retreat- April 20th 11:00-6:00
This event was organized and offered to the all state WCR members.
We had 80 registered members who drove for hours to spend the day with us in beautiful Santa Cruz on the beach.
At registration, each member received a tote bag with a WCR logo Long sleeved shirt, a sponsor imprinted ice cooler, an inspiration box, and a variety of sponsor goodies.
Catered Lunch was served from 11:00-12:00
Lucky winners had their Massages from 12:00-5:00
We then moved our beach chairs into a huge circle on the beach and had a variety of speakers:
First we had the sponsors:
Coldwell Banker, American Home shield, Washington Mutual, GET IT Real, Homes Magazine, Old Republic Title,
Santa Cruz Mortgage,and Equity Preservation, Inc.
Then we had local, Robert Bailey, the California Association of Realtor's President share his thoughts on Leadership and how each one of us can make a difference.
Then Lisa Tennenbaum a renowned teacher and counselor speak to us on " you can make it happen", then chef and author of Portabella Mushrooms cookbook Troy Brown spoke to us on following your dreams and making it a reality.
Our final speaker was a local Historian who share with us about the history of the cement ship, and the original Santa Cruz real estate owners. This whole morning session was fun, informative and enlightening.
Our Santa Castle building contest was broken into to 8 teams of 10. Each team have a bag of goodies and 30 minutes to build their best rendition of anything to do with WCR. Each team then " sold" their idea to the rest of the group who was to do the final voting. The winning team had a sand octopus and each leg represented a benefit of WCR.
By this time Harry Best from San Francisco started playing with his team on live steel drums and a guitar.
The Music blended perfectly into the background as we finished our afternoon.
During our break, Troy Brown grilled fresh portabella mushrooms for us to sample while he did a cooking demonstration on how to easily prepare and grill mushrooms for any occasion.
The best part of the day was when the 8 groups blended into 4 and each group sat in smaller circles to share information about themselves, their personal and professional goals . After each members shared with the group, then the other members in the circle would write down an inspiration and fill their " inspiration box' with notes they could read at a later time in privacy.
The day ended with beautiful music, a catered dinner and wonderful friendships being developed.

I am so inspired by all of you who took the time to spend on yourself.
Time to relax, Time to enjoy each other in an beautiful environment, and time to learn more of what WCR is all about.
